Field of Fear
Creating a seasonal website that keeps the experience fresh year after year
The Challenge
Field of Fear is a seasonal haunted house experience, which means the website has a very different job than a traditional business website. It needs to create excitement, communicate important event information, and feel visually connected to the experience itself.
The site was handed off to me and needed ongoing attention rather than being something that was built once and forgotten. Each year, the website needed to be refreshed for the upcoming season, including updated calendar graphics and promotional materials.
The Approach
Because Field of Fear is an entertainment experience, the visual presentation matters just as much as the information.
I approached the site as a seasonal marketing tool. The website needed to feel fun, attention grabbing, and appropriate for a haunted house while still making the important information easy for visitors to find.
The project also became an opportunity to work beyond the website itself. Seasonal graphics and promotional materials were created and updated using Canva, Photoshop, and InDesign so the visual experience stayed consistent across the season.
Built for the Season
The website is refreshed each year to support the upcoming haunted house season and keep information current.
Visual Storytelling
Seasonal graphics and promotional materials help create an experience that feels connected to the Field of Fear brand.
Ongoing Support
This is more than a one-time website project. I return each season to update, maintain, and refresh the site.

The Takeaway
Some websites are built once. Others become part of an ongoing marketing process.
Field of Fear has given me experience with the second kind. It has taught me how to keep a website fresh, relevant, and visually engaging while working around a seasonal business cycle.
RESULT
Field of Fear has become an ongoing seasonal website project that combines web design, maintenance, graphic design, and content updates.
Rather than simply maintaining an old website, I help refresh the digital experience each year so it continues to support the upcoming season.
Seasonal Maintenance
One of the biggest differences with this project is that the work doesn’t stop when the website launches.
Every season brings new dates, graphics, information, and promotional needs. I return to the site each year to update the experience for the new season and make sure visitors have current information.
That recurring work has taught me something important about website design: a good website needs to be manageable long after the original build is finished.
Working With a Different Kind of Client
Not every website needs to look like a corporate business website.
Field of Fear gives me the opportunity to show a different side of my design work. The project is more playful, visual, and seasonal, while still requiring organization and usability.
It also demonstrates my ability to adapt my design approach to the audience and purpose of a project rather than forcing every website into the same visual style.
